Yeovil Street Pastors need Prayer Pastors

To enable the Street Pastors team to patrol the streets of Yeovil every Friday and Saturday night, it’s essential there are Prayer Pastors praying at the base and covering the team in prayer from 10.00p.m to 3.30a.m. At the moment, there are only 18 Prayer Pastors, which is making it very difficult to send out Street Pastor teams. Therefore, the need is now URGENT and with prayer as an essential part of all that is done by the Yeovil Street Pastor initiative, if you are willing to pray with others from various Christian congregations at the base once per
month, please contact:
Ruth Farrant on ruth.farrant@btinternet.com or
Steve Hart on Yeovil@streetpastors.org.uk THANKS!!

September at Steps

We are now in the meteorological season of Autumn, a time when creations colours blaze in all their Creator’s glory.

As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” Genesis 8;22

This autumn we are going to be looking at Jesus’s life as recorded in Luke’s gospel from chapter 7 to chapter 9. There is no doubt, that as we read this account, Jesus had an amazing impact during his ministry. He challenged the social conventions of the day, affirming those who were considered to be second class citizens – he loved the unlovable, touched the untouchable, demonstrated his glory and taught of his coming death and the cost of being his follower.

So, what will he be saying to us as we explore these chapters together?

The people were all filled with wonder and praised God. “A great prophet has appeared among us,” they said. “God has come to help his people.” This news about Jesus spread all through Judea and the whole country.  Luke 7:16-17

A big thank you to our speakers this month and to all those who are going to be leading us as well.

Messy Church of Milborne Port

On Sunday 13th September you have your next opportunity to bring somebody along at 3p.m to share together in Messy Church.  Church in a different way!  And even more different this month as we start off a new term with our friends from St. John’s joining with the Messy Church team to take Messy to the next stage here in Milborne Port. There will be more details to come about venue etc – but please keep Messy Church in your prayers as a new step of faith is taken in our community to make Jesus known.
